Come to Monash Oxfam’s first Lunch Time Session on Gender Equity. Enjoy your lunch break with two amazing women representing Monash University’s movement towards Gender Equity. In the short span of an hour be prepared to be inspired from their amazing work and find out how you can embrace your inner feminist.
Speaker 1: Mireille Kayeye- A Global Perspective on Sexual and Gender-based Violence
-Master’s in International Development, Politics and Gender from the Australian National University

-Key note speaker at United Nations Summit in New York (2014) and Barack Obama’s Young African Leaders Initiative
Speaker 2: Dr Lesley Pruitt – Gender, Rights and Peacekeeping Practice
– Senior Lecturer in Politics and International Relations at Monash University
-Head of Monash Gender, Peace and Security (GPS) committee
-Previous work includes working in the US Congress, a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar and an academic at the University of Melbourne, Victoria University, and RMIT University
-Currently a visiting research fellow at George Mason University’s Peacekeeping Operations Policy Program in Washington, DC.
-Lesley will be talking about the women’s peacekeeping unit studied in her latest book, The Women in Blue Helmets: Gender, Policing & the UN’s First All-Female Peacekeeping Unit,
