Coffee and Conversations for Change at Amble and Adore Café on the 6th November 2016.

Sumi Abedin and Kalpona Akter outside the Just Jeans store in Bourke St, Melbourne. Sumi survived the Tarzeen garment factory fire in Bangladesh and the two women are in Australia to highlight the working conditions and changes in the industry since the fire.

Coffee and Conversations for Change

This Sunday’s Conversation for Change will be held at Amble and Adore Café at Camp Hill at 10am. The theme ‘Labour Rights’ will be introduced by Emily Dowling, the QLD Community Campaigner for Oxfam Australia. She will touch on Oxfam’s Living Wage campaign. We will discuss how to find out more about workers in neighbouring countries producing goods for our consumption, what their workplace standards are and how effectively these workers can be protected from exploitation.
