Walk Against Want – Eastern Suburbs
May 7 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Walk Against Want was first held in 1967 to symbolise the long walk undertaken daily by women in developing countries to fetch water. Hundreds of thousands of people have taken part in this event over the past five decades, raising many millions of dollars for Oxfam Australia’s life-changing work in around 30 countries worldwide, including Australia.
The walk will get underway between 9am and 1pm and starts — and finishes — at the St John Ambulance Hall at Elgar Park, Mont Albert North (Melways: 47B4). Please note that 13km and 18km walkers are required to start by midday.
